Matthew 25: 40 – ‘And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’
The CCD children at St. Alphonsa Catholic church have been expressing gratitude to God and mercy to their less fortunate brethren in Africa through the shoe box project. Each grade has adopted a child from St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in the town of Windhoek which is in Namibia, Africa. Each grade collects $120 per year for their adopted child which is sufficient for the food and educational needs of these children for the entire year. The amount will be sent to them at the end of the year. There is no administrative cost involved in the project and the full amount is sent to the beneficiaries. Through this project, these less fortunate children are helped in a great way while also inculcating the habit of charity and selfless giving in our children leading them into a more meaningful Christian life.
